Abstract

The paper presents a reconfigurable channel-selective wideband low-noise amplifier (LNA) incorporating dual-frequency, symmetrically staggered, differential N-path filters (NPF). The use of staggered NPFs in conjunction with current summation enables a tunable 4th-order bandpass response for a range of channel bandwidths. An integrated 14nm CMOS prototype, with a compact active area of 0.114mm2, consumes up to 41.8mW demonstrating a wide operating frequency range from 1.5 GHz to 3.5 GHz, reconfigurable bandwidth from 70MHz to 370 MHz, an in-band gain of 15.5 dB and a minimum noise figure (NF) of 5.5 dB.
