Transceiver Design for MIMO Integrated Radar and Jamming System Against Signal-Dependent Interference
Abstract
This paper proposes a joint design framework for transmit waveforms and receive filters in multi-input multi-output (MIMO)-based integrated radar and jamming (IRAJ) systems. By taking the output signal-to-jamming-plus-noise ratios (SJNR) of both the IRAJ system and adversarial radars as dual figures of merit, the design simultaneously enhances detection performance under signal-dependent interference and strengthens jamming effectiveness, while adhering to transmit power budgets and peak-to-average ratio (PAR) restrictions. To tackle the resulting non-convex multi-objective design problem, an alternating optimization with fractional programming (AOFP) framework is proposed with the scalarization, multi-fractional programming, and majorization-minimization (MM) algorithm integrated, yielding closed-form solutions at each iteration. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed transceiver design, revealing a clear trade-off between detection and jamming performance through the evolution of the achieved SJNR for bilateral systems, the Pareto curves, and the objective ratios under different weighting factors. The synthesized MIMO ambiguity function reflects the interference suppression capability and the improvement in radar performance. In comparison with its counterpart, the AOFP framework achieves faster iteration speed when solving the single-ratio subproblem.
