Joint Route Planning and Resource Allocation for Multitarget Tracking in Airborne Phased Array Radar Systems Under Deception Jamming
Abstract
This paper addresses performance degradation and inefficient resource utilization in airborne phased array radar systems (A-PARSs) operating under deception jamming. To overcome these challenges, we propose a joint route planning and dwell time allocation (JRPDTA) optimization strategy. The approach involves the coordinated optimization of each radar's heading angle and beam dwell time, considering platform maneuverability constraints and resource limitations. The goal is to enhance resource utilization efficiency while performing the multi-target tracking (MTT) and ensuring a predefined level of false target discrimination. The proposed method incorporates deception parameters into the tracking model, with the posterior Cramér-Rao lower bound (PCRLB) of the augmented state used to quantify the impact of deception jamming and platform maneuverability on detection probability. A target recognition module is designed to estimate the target discrimination probability, which serves as a performance metric for the A-PARS's anti-deception capability. The JRPDTA problem is formulated as a nonlinear, non-convex optimization model, constrained by radar maneuverability, dwell time, and discrimination probability under jamming. To solve this NP-hard problem efficiently, we present a two-stage decoupled optimization approach, combining a penalty function mechanism with multi-dimensional variable decoupling. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed JRPDTA method outperforms existing techniques in both target discrimination and MTT performance under deception jamming, while significantly improving system resource utilization.
