Rate Bumpless Transfer Control for Aero-Engine Control Systems Based on Switched Affine Models: A Bumpless Switching Signal Method
Abstract
This study focuses on the rate bumpless transfer (RBT) control issue of aero-engine control systems (AECSs) by using switched affine models. Firstly, a definition of RBT is introduced, which is related to the affine term of switched affine models and reduces the bumps of the rate of the aero-engines rotor's rotational speed at the switching instants by quantifying the rate bump restraint level based on the state magnitude at switching points. In contrast to prevailing characterizations of RBT performance, the proposed performance is more faithfully embodies the original intent of bumpless switching. Secondly, by co-designing the bumpless performance-dependent switching rule and the state feedback controller, both stability and RBT performance are simultaneously guaranteed within a unified framework. This integrated approach has significantly simplified the existing methods, reduced the complexity of implementation, and enhanced the overall effectiveness of the control strategy. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy is demonstrated through simulation experiments on the hardware-in-the-loop platform (HILP).
