Abstract

Blocking jamming, as a typical jamming mode for synthetic aperture radar (SAR), poses significant threats to system functionality by causing image obscuration and impeding target detection in practical combat scenarios. To effectively suppress the jamming signals, this paper proposes an effective blocking jamming suppression method based on virtual channels separation for single-channel SAR. In the proposed methodology, an adaptive virtual channels construction and separation framework is established to suppress jamming signals in single-channel SAR. Specifically, the received SAR signal is denoised and extended into multi-dimensional observation channels via a joint decomposition-denoising and adaptive virtual channels construction method. Then, a fast iterative separation algorithm based on an optimal separation matrix is proposed to achieve precise separation between jamming and target signals within the constructed virtual channels. Furthermore, a discrimination mechanism based on the norm entropy feature is proposed to identify target echoes from separated signal components. Experimental validation through simulations and measured data experiments demonstrates the superior capability of the proposed method in single-channel signal separation and the effective jamming suppression performance for single-channel SAR systems.
