Design of Low Sidelobe NLFM Waveform Based on RPWOA Parameterized Encoding Function
Abstract
Geometric resolution and sidelobes are the most important parameters in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging. These parameters depend on the suppression ability of the sidelobe level of the transmitted waveform. To reduce the sidelobe level of the signal, the window function based on the Principle of Stationary Phase (POSP) is typically used to generate nonlinear frequency modulation (NLFM) signals. However, the sidelobe level of these NLFM signals may not satisfy the requirements of SAR systems, and the methods are complex, making them difficult to apply in SAR systems. Finally, the performance of the RPWOA parameterized encoding function method is compared with other methods, and its performance is verified by numerical simulation results. Additionally, a D2F-SVA is proposed to suppress the sidelobes.
