A Coupling Design Method of Nonuniform Pulse Transmission Pattern and Deep Range-Doppler Reconstruction Strategy of PD Radar
Abstract
There exists a fundamental contradiction between achieving large unambiguous sensing range and large maximum unambiguous Doppler measure for traditional pulse-Doppler (PD) radar systems. Existing methods have investigated non-uniform pulse transmission patterns and compressive sensing-based range Doppler (RD) reconstruction algorithms to solve this inherent contradiction. However, the separate design of pulse transmission pattern and the RD reconstruction in existing methods fails to exploiting the anti-aliasing potential inherent in non-uniform trans mission. To solve this problem, we propose a coupling design method for pulse transmission pattern and RD reconstruction of PD radar. Specifically, we learn the pulse transmission intervals in a random parameter freeze strategy and develop a IterUNet algorithm with approximate observations for high-quality RD reconstruction. Fur thermore, the learnable pulse transmission pattern and IterUNet for RD reconstruction undergo coupled optimization to achieve better aliasing suppression and high-quality RD reconstruction. Extensive experiments with simulated and measured data validate the superiority of our method in terms of RD reconstruction quality while maintaining an extended unambiguous RD sensing scope.
