Unconditionally Stable One-Step Leapfrog ADI-FDTD Method for Magnetized Plasma and Graphene-Based Structures
Abstract
This communication presents an unconditionally stable one-step leapfrog alternating-direction-implicit finite-difference time-domain (Lp ADI-FDTD) method for magnetized plasma and graphene-based structures. The modified Euler method, with a two-step prediction-correction format, is employed to remove the Courant-Friedrichs-Lewy (CFL) stability condition. Its unconditional stability and accuracy are investigated and validated through numerical experiments. Results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves superior computational efficiency with a larger CFL number (CFLN), particularly when simulating magnetized plasma-graphene-based frequency-selective surface (FSS). It reveals that the biased static electromagnetic fields can be used to adjust the reflected and transmitted waves of the FSS, where the locations of the stop bands are mainly controlled by the biased electrostatic field, and the minimum values of the stop bands can be changed by the applied magnetostatic field.
