Electromagnetic Scattering of Uniformly Moving PEC Objects---Part II: The Marching-on-in-Time Algorithm
Abstract
In this part, we present the marching-on in time (MOT) algorithm for solving the TD-CFIEv developed in Part I to numerically analyze the electromagnetic scattering characteristics of perfectly electrically conducting (PEC) targets with arbitrary shapes uniformly moving in free space. In order to enhance the computational efficiency and accuracy, the coefficient matrices are calculated with temporal convolution scheme, in which the hyper singular terms in the integrations are extracted and evaluated analytically. The residue terms in the electric fields and the magnetic fields are handled with the formulae derived in Part I. The method can be utilized for analyzing multiple objects moving with different velocities since all calculations are performed in the laboratory frame without the necessity of explicitly applying the Lorentz transformations. The stability of the MOT algorithm is demonstrated with several numerical examples, and the high numerical accuracy is verified by comparing with the results obtained using the Lorentz-Mie theory or the frame hopping technique.
