Abstract

To expedite the development of high-speed maglev transportation systems while minimizing R&D costs, a real-time simulation platform has been developed for comprehensive maglev system validation. The platform architecture comprises three key components: (1) a host computer for numerical modeling, (2) a real-time simulation system (hardware system), (3) interface devices. Leveraging SIMPACK and MATLAB/Simulink software on the host computer, multi-domain numerical models were established, including maglev vehicle dynamics, traction power supply networks, operational control logic, track alignment configurations, and track irregularity profiles. These models were subsequently deployed to the real-time simulation system for synchronized simulations, with dedicated management software enabling real-time system monitoring and automated data logging. Dynamic simulation tests were conducted under predefined operational scenarios to evaluate vehicle-track interaction performance. Results demonstrated exceptional consistency between simulated and theoretical predictions, with key kinematic parameters showing less than 5% deviation from design specifications. This validation confirms both the fidelity of the numerical framework and the effectiveness of the real-time co-simulation methodology. The platform has been successfully applied to optimize electromagnetic levitation stability and guideway alignment tolerances for 600 km/h maglev systems, reducing iterative prototyping cycles by 40% compared to conventional testing approaches.
