Parameter Design and Efficiency Analysis of a Self-Rectifier HTS Flux Pump
Abstract
Although superconducting materials exhibit zero resistance in low-temperature, theoretically allowing current to flow indefinitely, in practical operation, factors such as external disturbances, material properties, and fluctuations in the cooling system may cause the current in the superconducting magnets to gradually decay. To compensate for this current decay, a superconducting flux pump can be applied to the magnet system, which can inject or extract magnetic flux into or from the closed superconducting loop without disrupting the circuit, thus regulating and maintaining the current intensity. In this study, the parameters of a self-rectified HTS flux pump are designed based on specific experimental conditions. An analysis of the circuit's power and efficiency is presented, offering a reference for the application of such flux pumps in electrodynamic suspension (EDS) systems.
