Abstract

Due to the existence of complex variables and parameters, complex-valued chaotic maps can exhibit much richer dynamical behaviors than real-valued counterparts. However, most existing chaotic maps focus on the real domain, while studies on complex-valued chaotic maps remain relatively underexplored. In light of this, this brief proposes a two-dimensional complex-valued rotational chaotic (2D-CRC) map. Theoretical analysis reveals that the 2D-CRC map exhibits chaotic behavior in terms of Lyapunov exponents. Property analysis shows that the 2D-CRC map exhibits rich dynamical behaviors, notably an inherent rotational property. Furthermore, a Zynq-based hardware implementation is employed to demonstrate the practical realizability of the generated strange attractors.
