On the Applicability Conditions of Approximate Measurement Models for Shielding Effectiveness Using Coupled Reverberation Chambers
Abstract
In this letter, measurement results show that the applicability condition of the approximate measurement model (MM), referred to asSE3, in which multiple interactions are neglected, can be easily satisfied even for very large apertures in nested reverberation chambers. The applicability condition of the MM, referred to asSE4, is also tested both directly, as the ratio between the MMsSE3andSE4, and indirectly, in terms of the SE of the fixture. The results are very useful in the improvement process of Annex G in Standard IEC 61000-4-21. To better understand the origins of the measurement results, the first part of this study presents a physical interpretation of the coupling chambers grounded in the power balance principle.
