Efficient Approach for Electromagnetic Radiation Sources Modeling Based on Fourier Transform of Near Magnetic Field Measurements
Abstract
This article proposes an efficient method to reconstruct an equivalent source composed of several magnetic dipoles using measured magnetic field cartographies, which is essential for electromagnetic source modeling aimed at ensuring electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) in various applications, such as magnetic shielding. Due to the inherent complexity and inaccuracies of direct source modeling, an optimization-based method is developed. This method exploits fewer spatial parameters of the elementary magnetic dipoles to accurately estimate the magnetic current density of the sources. The proposed approach estimates the location parameters directly from the 2-D Fourier transform of magnetic field measurements in the near field. As a result, the number of estimated parameters in the optimization algorithm is reduced to two per dipole. In this study, a detailed mathematical formulation is presented. The efficiency of the proposed method is validated through numerical simulations and experimental measurements, thus demonstrating its potential for various applications in EMC and near-field source reconstruction.
