Abstract

Smooth speed regulation is crucial for permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) drive systems. Aiming at improving the transient performance and ensuring control accuracy of PMSMs, a predefined-time adaptive barrier function based sliding mode control algorithm (PTABFSMC) with finite-time disturbance observer is proposed for PMSM speed control in this article. First, to enhance convergence speed and reduce the chatting, a novel adaptive barrier function with dynamic boundary is proposed, and the instability and singularity of traditional barrier functions while exceeding their boundaries are solved. Second, a predefined-time sliding mode reaching law based on the barrier function is designed, and the convergence time can be predefined in advance, which is also independent of the initial conditions and disturbance. Then, by designing a nonsingular predefined-time sliding mode surface, the speed tracking controller is derived. Furthermore, to improve the anti-disturbance performance of the system, an enhanced disturbance compensation technology with a novel finite-time disturbance observer (FTDO) is designed to estimate the disturbances. Finally, the superiority and effectiveness of the proposed control scheme are verified through a series of comparative experiments.
