Abstract

In the DC microgrid system, the efficient integration of renewable energy source (RES), energy storage units, and loads is critical to the stable operation of the system. This article proposes a high-voltage-gain three-port DC–DC converter with reduced semiconductor stress and low input current ripple. This converter employs coupled-inductor and switched-capacitor boost mechanism, incorporating a bidirectional power storage port. The converter offers the advantages of high-voltage-gain and low-input current ripple, while significantly reducing the voltage stress on the switches and diodes. The output voltage can be flexibly adjusted by varying the duty ratio of the switch and the turns ratio of the coupled-inductor. Finally, a 50-kHz 200-W experimental prototype with a 38-V RES voltage, a 76-V battery voltage, and a 380-V load voltage is built to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed converter.
