Abstract

In this article, a full-range zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) isolated buck-boost (IBB) converter with combined pulse width modulation (PWM) and dual-phase-shift (DPS) control is proposed, which features bidirectional power flow and is suitable for wide input/output voltage applications. This converter can realize ZVS for all the power switches over the full-range (full input/output voltages and load range) with minimized rms value of the energy conversion inductor, and the oscillation caused by the transformer leakage inductance is depressed. The operating principle of the converter is analyzed, and the implementation of the control scheme is provided. Finally, a 6-kW prototype of the IBB converter is fabricated and tested in the lab, and the experiment results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed converter.
