Abstract

This article describes the realization of a low-complexity impedance measurement system. Besides the analog part designed to realize a voltage-controlled current source, data acquisition is based on one-bit quantization. The acquisition framework is fully described. It extends a known technique for estimating sine wave parameters from one-bit quantized data by including the availablea prioriinformation on the properties of the dither signal. The realized instrument is applied to the two-wire measurement of the dynamic impedance of a${\bf 18650}$rechargeable battery. Experimental results are compared with impedance measurements based on a full-resolution quantizer and an LCR meter on a reference impedance, showing good agreement while achieving significantly lower complexity.
