Generalized Quantitative Evaluation in Broadband Diffractive Imaging
Abstract
Broadband Coherent Diffractive Imaging (BCDI) enables phase-retrieved imaging with ultra-short wavelength sources and has gained increasing attention for its efficient use of wideband illumination. However, spectral broadening introduces multi-scatter aliasing and temporal decoherence, degrading phase retrieval performance and limiting the effectiveness of existing evaluation functions. Here, we propose a Diffraction-Wavefront Evaluation (DWE) strategy that combines Fourier and feature domain information to robustly quantify BCDI reconstruction quality. DWE demonstrates strong generalization across both Fraunhofer and Fresnel regimes. This novel dual-domain evaluation framework, for the first time, offers a quantitative benchmark for algorithmic improvement and a foundation for further advances in broadband computational imaging.
