Abstract

A miniature on-chip dual-band balanced power divider design based on bridged T-coils and thin-film resistors (TFRs) is proposed, which is capable of absorbing the input common-mode noise. As a proof of concept, a 10-/24-GHz prototype implemented with a GaAs-based integrated passive device (IPD) process is demonstrated. It features a very compact circuit size of$3.83\times 2.61$mm, and the corresponding electrical size is only$0.128\lambda _{0} \times 0.087\lambda _{0}$at 10 GHz. Measured results demonstrate differential-mode insertion loss of 3.99/6.07 dB and common-mode rejection of 48.4/33 dB at 10/24 GHz, respectively. Notably, the proposed design achieves high common-mode suppression with more than 98.6% of the input common-mode noise being absorbed at both operating frequencies.
