Abstract

Conventional virtual synchronous generator (VSG) power decoupling control strategies are typically designed for a fixed set of operating parameters, which often vary in practical systems. In order to solve this issue, a decoupled VSG based on online adaptive feedforward compensation (OAFC) is proposed under weak grid conditions. This approach improves both dynamic and steady-state performance of the power loops through OAFC. Furthermore, an online grid impedance estimation algorithm is integrated into the VSG control loop, ensuring reliable operation in the grid with fluctuating line parameters. Unlike traditional methods, the proposed strategy achieves power decoupling under varying line impedance and operating conditions by dynamically adjusting compensation parameters online. Detailed stability analysis is elaborated. Finally, simulation and experimental results confirm the proposed OAFC strategy.
