Abstract

Muzzle speed and efficiency are two important factors that constrain the development of reluctance coil launchers. In order to improve the muzzle speed of the reluctance coil launcher, the number of stages of the launcher is bound to increase, which leads to the complication of the simulation model, a long simulation time consuming and low optimization efficiency. Aiming at the above problems, this article proposes a fast optimization method for high-speed reluctance coil launchers based on genetic algorithms and machine learning. First, based on a seven-stage reluctance coil launcher, simulation and experimental verification are carried out to prove the accuracy of finite element simulation; taking the parameter of the first stage as an example, after determining the voltage size, the capacitance, wire diameter, coil layer number and armature length were selected for orthogonal experimental analysis, and the influence of different parameters on the muzzle speed and efficiency was analyzed. Finally, the wire diameter and coil layer number were determined as the optimization object. Based on machine learning, the fast calculation model is trained with the wire diameter and the number of coil layers as inputs and the muzzle speed as output; the fast calculation model is invoked with the genetic algorithm, and the maximum muzzle speed of the launcher is taken as the fitness function, so as to achieve the fast optimization of the parameters of the high-speed reluctance coil launcher stage by stage. The results show that after optimization, a muzzle speed of 113.59 m/s can be achieved under the condition of a 32-stage launcher with an efficiency of 9.96%, and it is predicted that the efficiency of the launcher reaches the maximum value of 10.26% at 78 stages, with a muzzle speed of 180 m/s. The optimization method can significantly improve the launching efficiency and is an effective and feasible method for the optimal design of high-speed reluctance coil launchers.
