Resonance Mitigation Effectiveness Evaluation and Damping Parameters Design Method for Parallel Resonance in Power System
Abstract
Traditional methods evaluate and design resonance mitigation strategies by repeatedly solving system impedance, which results in low efficiency, limited scalability. There is a lack of universal and effective evaluation approaches to analyze the effectiveness of strategies for local/non-local resonances of multiple nodes and harmonic current amplifications in multiple resonance-participating branches. To address this issue, a parallel resonance mitigation domain (PRMD)-based effectiveness evaluation method for resonance mitigation strategies is proposed. By decoupling the strategies' equivalent impedance from the nodal impedance matrix, the method avoids repeated system matrix inversion, simplifying the evaluation process significantly. The relative mitigation domain (RMD) and ideal mitigation domain (IMD) for each domain of PRMD are further defined to guide optimal parameter selection. Based on this, a damping parameters design method based on IMD-PRMD is proposed to streamline the decision-making process and achieve comprehensive parallel resonance mitigation. The proposed method can be extended to any resonance scenario.
