Abstract

High voltage gain non-isolated dc-dc converters are finding an increasingly wide range of applications in clean energy generation systems. In applications, such as electric vehicle charging station, the low ripple input current of dc-dc converters can prolong its service life. Accordingly, this paper Improved and derived a dc-dc converters with low ripple input current and low voltage stress of switch. The converters are characterized by high efficiency, extra-high voltage gain, continuous input current, passive clamping, and common ground. It adopts a unique three-winding coupled-inductor and a switched capacitor to enhance its boost capability, and has three modulation indexes, i.e., the boost turn ratio (n1>1), the buck turn ratio (n2n2not only avoids an increase in the capacity and size of the coupled-inductor, but also reduces the leakage inductance, total inductance, and core size of the coupled inductor, which in turn reduces the loss of the coupled inductor, and increases the efficiency of converter. This paper studies steady-state characteristics of the converter, deduces the current/voltage relationship for each component, analyses the efficiency of converter. Finally, the feasibility of the proposed converter is verified via experiments.
