A Novel Jamming Modulation Scheme Using Jamming Elimination and Amplification for Reliable Communications
Abstract
Recently, an active anti-jamming (AAJ) scheme called jamming modulation (JM) scheme has been proposed, which shows better bit error rate (BER) performance under jamming attack by controlling the on-off state of the programmable gain amplifier (PGA). For the purpose of further improving the BER performance under high jamming-to-noise ratio (JNR) cases, this paper proposesa novel JM scheme using jamming elimination and amplification (JM-JEA). Specifically, the JM-JEAuses the PGA to generate the two states: jamming elimination and jamming amplification for transmitting information bits, which enables the reliable detection at the receiver. Moreover, we derive the expression for the BER performance and provide the optimal threshold for decoding the information bits for the JM-JEA.Our analysis shows that the JM-JEA overcomes the BER floor of the traditional AAJ scheme at large JNR, and achieves the significant improvement on the BER performance.
