Phase Configuration Designs for a New Family of Greedy Detection-Enabled RIS-Assisted Multi-Stream Spatial Modulation Schemes
Abstract
This correspondence proposes a new family of RIS-assisted multi-stream spatial modulation schemes. These schemes enable the use of a greedy detector (GD), thereby eliminating the need for channel state information at the receiver. We show that the RIS phase configuration design problems associated with the proposed schemes share a common structure and can therefore be solved in a unified manner. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed schemes collectively support a wide range of achievable rates, with error rate performance that is comparable to, or even outperforms, many state-of-the-art GD-enabled RIS-assisted spatial modulation schemes.
