Abstract

Peacock J, James G, Atkinson M, Henderson J. Complications of vasectomy: results from a prospective audit of 105 393 procedures. BJU Int 2024; 134: 789–795. DOI: https://doi.org/10.1111/bju.16463. Since publication of our paper, we have become aware of two errors, which we believe require correction. The first relates to Table 1. In the last column the total number of late failures should be 41, not 36. The second error relates to late failure rate. The late failure rate in the same table is recorded as 0.04%. It was incorrectly calculated against the total number of vasectomies performed (99 124). Instead, it should be calculated against the number of vasectomies with post-vasectomy semen analyses showing an occlusive success, i.e. early occlusive failures are excluded, 68 854 (69 502 – 648). This gives a corrected rate of 0.06%, not 0.04% as stated in the abstract, Table 1, the second paragraph of the ‘Early/Late Failure’ section on page 791, and the second paragraph of the ‘Early and Late Failure’ section on page 792. We apologise for this error.
