Abstract

Females live longer than males but experience higher rates of disability and poor health-a phenomenon known as the malefemale health survival paradox [1,2].Globally, females have a longer life expectancy than males, yet spend an average of 25% more time in poor health [3][4][5].Even after accounting for age, women are more likely to experience disability than men but the more prevalent chronic conditions that contribute to this disparity differ between sexes [6]. | Noncommunicable Diseases that Disproportionately, Differently, or Uniquely Impact Older FemalesExamples of noncommunicable diseases can be categorized into those that (1) impact females disproportionately, (2)
