Abstract

A new species of the subgenus Leptogalumna (Leptogalumna), L. (L.) dilatata Akrami sp. nov., is described, based on female adults collected from soil beneath fruit trees in Sistan & Baluchestan Province, southeastern Iran. Leptogalumna (L.) dilatata differs from all other Leptogalumna species in the morphology of the bothridial seta (with weakly expanded head in distal half versus setiform and flagellate in other species). A diagnostic key to the adults of the known species of Leptogalumna, as well as a summary of their distribution and habitats, is provided.
