Abstract

We present an experimental demonstration of stress-engineered optics integrated into a Shack–Hartmann wavefront sensor. The shapes of the point-spread functions (PSFs) encode polarization information, while PSF displacements encode the local wavefront gradient (which enables wavefront reconstruction). Using calibrated polarizations and wavefront tilts, we construct a measurement matrix capable of reconstructing both the Stokes parameters and the wavefront, yielding a measurement of wavefront gradients as small as 100 μrad with a polarimetric angular error of ∼0.1 radians on the Poincaré sphere in a single frame measurement.
