Abstract

Among electro-optic modulator-based comb generators (so-called EO combs), a Inphase/Quadrature modulator (IQM) based comb generator is multi-functional and exhibits great simplicity and compactness, which can generate spectrally flat optical combs just using a single-stage modulator structure. Recently, two-step parameter control (TS-PC) has been demonstrated, which opens a door for automatic control of the comb generator even though a Mach-Zehnder Modulator (MZM) is deeply modulated in a highly nonlinear regime. In this paper, we experimentally demonstrate a parallel two-step parameter control (P-TSPC) method, which automatically optimizes the condition for flat optical comb generation using IQM.
