Abstract

We demonstrate micro-transfer printing (μTP) as a scalable solution for integrating reflective semiconductor optical amplifiers (RSOAs) onto silicon nitride (SiN) platforms for fully-integrated hybrid external cavity lasers. Using high-Q side-coupled Fabry-Pérot cavities as resonant reflectors in the external cavity, we achieve high extinction distinct wavelengths across SC-FP resonances within the DBR stopband. The transfer-printed RSOAs provide broadband gain enabling controllable laser wavelength emission across the C-band, establishing μTP as a transformative technology for compact and efficient hybrid photonic integration.
