Abstract

Coalesenz Inc. is translating laser-speckle rheology into Lucerix, a cartridge-based, point-of-care coagulation analyzer that reports comprehensive, actionable coagulation profiles in under 10 minutes. reaction time, activated clotting time (ACT), clot-growth angle and maximum amplitude (MA) from a 50-µL whole-blood sample in under five minutes. We verified the alpha prototype with 50 discarded clinical samples spanning the coagulation spectrum at Massachusetts General Hospital. After optimizing CaCl₂ and activated-kaolin concentrations, Lucerix ACT correlated strongly with laboratory aPTT (r = 0.81) and TEG 6s R + K (r = 0.72), while MA tracked fibrinogen on the Werfen ACL-TOP (r = 0.66) and TEG FF-MA (r = 0.73). Precision testing (two devices, two operators) showed ≤5 % CV for all parameters. These data support Lucerix as a rapid, cartridge-based alternative to laboratory and ultrasound POC assays for bedside anticoagulation management.
