Underwater image restoration based on binary Fourier single-pixel imaging
Abstract
This paper presents an underwater imaging scheme that combines binary Fourier single-pixel imaging and the APEX method, providing a fast and cost-effective solution for underwater image acquisition and restoration. By integrating preprocessing and iterative processing, we extend the applicability of the APEX method and enhance its restoration performance. This proposed approach improves the quality of simple images by up to 50%, and achieves gains of approximately 10% to 20% for complex images, offering an effective technical route for single-pixel underwater imaging. Future work will explore the incorporation of denoising techniques to mitigate the amplification of high-frequency noise during the restoration.
