Substrate characterization for cardiac ablation therapy using optics and electroanatomic mapping
Abstract
Ablation procedures to treat cardiac arrhythmias, in which abnormal heart tissue is ablated using a catheter, can have high recurrence rates and long procedure times. Determining precisely what areas of the heart require ablation can be challenging. Within this talk, I will summarize the technical advances that the Structure Function Imaging Laboratory has done utlizing optical coherence tomography, near infrared spectroscopy, electroanatomic mapping, and mahine learning to help determine ablation targets, which may potentially improve ablation outcomes and shorten procedure times.
