Abstract

Optical systems for passive ranging based on chiral phase masks establish a relationship between the point spread function and object distance variations by introducing chiral phase masks, thereby extracting three-dimensional depth information of objects. They are widely applied in wavefront coding-based passive ranging. In this study, through a combination of theoretical modeling and simulation analysis, the influence of assembly angular errors of chiral phase plates around the central optical axis on ranging accuracy is systematically analyzed. The main findings are as follows: (1) The impact of assembly errors on ranging accuracy can be effectively reduced through accurate theoretical derivation and formula compensation; (2) Simulation results show that assembly angular errors lead to a decrease in ranging accuracy, and the magnitude of ranging errors is closely related to the measurement distance. This research provides an important theoretical basis and optimization direction for improving the ranging accuracy when using chiral phase plates in practical applications, and promotes the development of wavefront coding-based passive ranging technology.
