Application analysis of mid-wave infrared spectral imaging in pyrometry
Abstract
The multispectral infrared pyrometry method, which boasts advantages such as convenience, rapidity, and noncontact operation, has been widely applied in fields including industrial, agricultural, environmental, public safety, and beyond. However, the acquisition systems for traditional mid- and long-wave infrared multispectral pyrometry are often bulky and complex in structure, which limits the application of spectral temperature measurement in integrated and lightweight scenes. This paper proposes a solution that replaces the multi-detector imaging system with a single device, which consists of a 4-channel DFP (division of focal plane), to acquire snapshots of mid-wave infrared spectral images and estimate the target temperatures. On the basis of the parameters of the device and some real application scenes of pyrometry, the performance of the device was simulated and analyzed. The result shows that in a normal daytime environment, the device can achieve a measurement accuracy of 98.30% for gray-body targets. The comprehensive error of each channel within the temperature measurement range is less than 2.99%, and the average estimation error of the surface emissivity for non-gray-body targets is 3. 91%. Additionally, the maximum effective distance of pyrometry is approximately 800 meters, which makes it suitable for scenarios where the temperature difference between the target and the environmental background is relatively small. These findings verify the feasibility and accuracy of the device in estimating surface emissivity and provide a basis for its application in practical detection, metrology, and other related applications.
