Abstract

During the flight of the booster stage of the solid rocket engine, the infrared radiation signal of the high-temperature plume produced by the combustion of the engine propellant is much larger than the radiation signal emitted by the solid surface of the engine, and from the perspective of overall detection, the radiation signal of the solid target will be annihilated in the infrared radiation signal of the high-temperature plume, which is difficult to distinguish. Some studies have shown that the polarization characteristics can complement the infrared characteristics to a certain extent. Therefore, in this paper, a simulation calculation model of the polarization characteristics of the solid rocket engine body and the flame is constructed, and a typical example is designed to simulate and analyze the differences between the polarization characteristics of the solid rocket engine body and the plume.
