Abstract

Rail insulating joints are devices used to separate track sections, which can be classified into mechanical insulation and electrical insulation according to their forms. Mechanical Insulating Joints physically separate two rails with insulating materials to achieve electrical disconnection. However, due to the weak structure of traditional mechanical insulating joints, they severely restrict the operating speed and load capacity of trains. To improve train operation conditions, electrical insulating joints based on the principle of electromagnetic resonance have replaced traditional mechanical ones. These electrical insulating joints enable seamless tracks, avoiding the impact of train wheels on rail joints. This paper extracts the amplitudes of the effective and intruding signals, as well as the carrier - frequency and low - frequency characteristics of the intruding signal when mechanical insulating joints damage and presents the simulation results.
