Abstract

A picosecond dissector is an optoelectronic device based on a dissector tube, which is a hybrid of a streak tube and a photomultiplier. Dissectors are successfully used on cyclic accelerators to register synchrotron radiation pulses, and have a number of advantages over streak cameras, which are widely used for similar purposes. This paper is devoted to the picosecond dissector tube DT3001 developed by FSUE "VNIIA" for use on the gen 4+ synchrotron SKIF. The paper describes main parameters, design and basic technology of the DT3001, as well as the results of the time resolution measurements of experimental samples of the tube, carried out by determining the response of the DT3001 to a δ-shaped femtosecond pulse of radiation from a titanium-sapphire laser.
