Simulation and analysis of electric fields in the dielectric laser accelerator
Abstract
This paper proposes a novel dielectric laser accelerator (DLA) structure that leverages the Inverse Cherenkov Effect through the use of a triangular-gradient dielectric medium. The acceleration performance of this structure was comprehensively investigated in a high-intensity laser field using COMSOL Multiphysics simulations. By applying incident plane waves with scattering boundary conditions, the simulations accurately confirmed the formation of a periodic axial accelerating electric field within the channel. The results indicate that the proposed structure can generate an accelerating gradient of up to 10 GV/m. This finding demonstrates the significant potential of this design for the realization of high-efficiency, compact accelerators and provides a new pathway and theoretical basis for the design of future on-chip accelerator systems.
