Travel time analysis of mixed traffic scenario based on simulation method
Abstract
The simulation method is used to study the characteristics of mixed traffic flow with both autonomous vehicles and manual vehicles. Firstly, the Krauss model is selected as the manual model, and the IDM and CACC are chosen as the autonomous model, and analyze the model parameters in detailed. Secondly, the highway stright, curve and on-ramp scenarios are built by using traffic software SUMO. By setting corresponding parameters to distinguish between the three types of vehicles model, and simulation program is run for each scenario, and the autonomous vehicles proportion increases gradually from 10% to 90% at the rate of 10%. Finally, the simulation results demonstrate that with the increase of autonomous vehicles, road average travel time is gradually decreasing while the total number of vehicles remains the same. In addition, the results strongly show that CACC performs better than IDM because of the information interaction between vehicles.
