Research on the interactive relationship between ride hailing and cruise taxi development

In recent years, ride hailing has become an important choice for people's travel. This study takes the passenger volume data of online ride hailing and cruise taxi services in China from January 2023 to December 2024 as an example, and analyzes the interactive effects between the development of ride hailing and cruise taxi services from both static and dynamic perspectives using Granger causality test and Vector auto-regression(VAR) model. The research results indicate that there is a one-way causal relationship between the development of ride hailing services and the development of cruise taxis, and ride hailing services will dominate and drive the taxi market in the future.
