Abstract

As an important engine to promote the construction of new urbanization in China, the evaluation of the spatial effect of high-speed rail (HSR) network is of great significance to optimize the regional development pattern. This paper uses spatial Durbin model to investigate the impact of HSR network on urbanization. The results show that there is a significant spatial correlation in China's urbanization process, which is strengthened by the development of HSR network. HSR shows a unique "local suppression-neighborhood promotion" effect, which verifies its network externality value. The robustness test shows that the radiation range of HSR is beyond the expectation, and the indirect effect under the inverse distance square matrix is increased to 0.161 (p
