Abstract

A low-profile broadband antenna operating in ultra-high frequency (UHF) is presented in this paper. The proposed antenna includes an inverted F-like radiator and a feeding network. The inverted F-like radiator has two feeding ports that are connected and fed through a power divider. Compared with the traditional inverted F antenna, the inverted F-like radiator is formed by two inverted-L antennas with different resonant frequencies approaching to each other in the horizontal direction. Two different resonant frequencies instead of one resonant frequency are introduced to achieve broadband performance. The proposed prototype was fabricated and measured. The height of the fabricated antenna is 40 mm (0.09λ) at 680 MHz. The bandwidth of the fabricated prototype is from 680 MHz to 1200 MHz (VSWR
