Analysis and prediction of influencing factors of the correlation between urban NO2 and CO2
Abstract
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is an important atmospheric greenhouse gas, and human activities are an important cause of the increase in atmospheric CO2 concentration. However, at present, ground and satellite observation data of CO2 are scarce and difficult to be directly used for the study of the spatiotemporal variation characteristics of atmospheric CO2. The concentrations of anthropogenic nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and CO2 in the atmosphere are highly homologous. The statistics of carbon and nitrogen concentrations based on high-resolution NO2 observation data can make up for the deficiency of CO2 observation. This study is based on the synchronous observation data of the mixed concentration of CO2 (XCO2) observed by ground base stations and the column concentration of NO2 observed by the nitrogen satellite TROPOMI in the downwind direction of large power plants in Nanjing and Wuxi. The relationship between carbon and nitrogen concentrations in the area affected by human activities is statistically analyzed. Analyze the relationship between the artificially enhanced column concentrations of XCO2 and NO2 near different power plants and the relationship between meteorological factors such as temperature, pressure, humidity and wind. This study explores the relationship between carbon and nitrogen concentration changes under human influence by means of high-resolution nitrogen satellite and ground base station data observations. It can not only make up for the deficiency of CO2 observations, deepen the understanding of the spatio-temporal variation characteristics of CO2, but also provide important basic data for the synergy of pollution reduction and carbon emission reduction.
