Abstract

Deep foundation pit excavation may cause ground settlement around and soil loss due to pipeline leakage. Anumerical model was established on the EDEM-Fluent platform to study the soil seepage erosion and failure process after theleakage of the pressurized pipeline interface. The influences of fine particle content (FPC), pipeline burial depthratioand pipeline flow velocity on seepage failure were discussed. The results show that the soil with 15%fine particlecontent has a strong anti-erosion ability. A larger burial depth ratio and a lower flow velocity in the pipelinewill significantly delay the process of soil erosion and failure.
