Exploration and practice of Chengdu's urban renewal of asking symptoms and curing diseases in the context of park city building

As a critical step in the construction of Chengdu as a park city, urban renewal responds to the needs of residents and serves as an efficient way to realize the values inherent in a park city. Based on the historical experience of urban renewal at home and abroad, and in line with the principles of ecological orientation, multi-governance and shared livability of a park city, this paper analyzes the existing problems in Chengdu’s urban renewal. Based on its regional characteristics, this paper summarizes Chengdu’s urban renewal practices, namely “regional activation”, “scenario reconstruction” and “urban acupuncture”, aiming to provide a reference for other cities.
