Effect of Re content on eutectic structure of an additive manufacturing nickel-based superalloy
Abstract
This study investigates the effect of Re content on eutectic structures in additively manufactured nickel-based superalloys. Three alloys, ZGH-0Re, ZGH-2Re, and ZGH-4Re, with varying Re contents were fabricated using direct energy deposition (DED) technology. Microstructural characterization of the three alloys reveals that the addition of Re results in refined γ phases but promotes the formation of γ/γ' eutectic phases. The study elucidates how Re influences the formation of eutectic structures by affecting element segregation, providing theoretical basis and experimental guidance for composition design of additively manufactured.
