Abstract

To address frequent ground control issues in deep high-stress soft coal seams with large mining heights—including compressive deformation, rib spalling, roof leakage, and collapse—this study employs FLAC3D numerical modeling to comparatively analyze stress evolution and convergence distribution in grouted vs. non-grouted roadway surrounding rock. Results demonstrate that grouting reinforcement reduces displacements by 61.4%, 63.8%, 64.4%, and 64.3%at 5m, 15 m, 25 m, and 35 m ahead of the working face, respectively, compared to untreated sections. The findings confirm grouting’s efficacy in controlling roadway deformation, offering practical insights for reinforcement design in deep high-stress conditions.
